What Are Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both a modified version of a naturally occurring peptide in our bodies that helps stimulate the body’s insulin production and lowers glucagon production, resulting in lowered blood sugar and slower digestion. They have been approved by the FDA to be used as a weight-loss aid when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide prescriptions were originally identified to treat diabetes by controlling blood sugar. They have since been shown to be an effective weight loss tool for people of all ages.

How Do Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Work to Help You Lose Weight?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide help you lose weight by stimulating insulin production in the pancreas after eating, which triggers the stomach to empty more slowly. This in turn sends a signal to the brain telling your stomach it’s full. This helps decrease your appetite and control blood sugar levels to help you lose weight. By decreasing your appetite, Semaglutide and Tirzepatide help you adhere to a lower calorie diet so that you eat more healthfully and exercise more to increase your weight loss efforts.
